After a full morning of rides, and building a wooden car at the Home Depot tent, Alex is fully tuckered out. He eats a few bites, then takes a rest on a hay bale, while Mom and Dad sample the garlic-laced cuisine at the Gilroy Garlic Festival. The food was good, and the music was EXCELLENT. The singer looked like my husband’s eccentric aunt, yet belted out tunes like a cross between the Dixie Chicks and Melissa Etheridge. She had this amazing voice. There w! ere four different stages of music at the festival, plus two sets of roaming musicians, and the music was really, really good. I wish we could have stayed longer, (crabby kid,) because the music was really good. I would also have liked to have seen the crowning of the first "Garlic Idol" but my son’s sugar high wore off long before then… Maybe next year… The Garlic Festival was a good time.
